Floral design workshops

9/27 Fall Floral Workshop

$155 per person · Sunday, September 27th, 3–5 pm

Sunday school is in session. Learn floral design principles and the art of floral design from local Orcas Island floral designer Whitney Page, with flowers grown by Tekla Farms. Dahlias will be the star of the show.

We’ll begin with a short walk through the dahlia field, where Laura will showcase Tekla’s dahlia growing practices and our favourite varieties. Then we’ll begin the floral design education portion, followed by a full 45 minutes for you to create your beautiful design in a gorgeous compote vase.

This is a hands-on workshop geared towards those who want to learn sustainable floral design with premium flowers. A light refreshment will be provided.

As we are a small team working to make these happen, we are unable to accommodate cancellations or refunds. Please be sure you can attend, or pass your ticket on to a friend if you can’t make it.

Dahlia tubers, bulbs and wool pellets

The packaged side of the farm: tubers we grew, split and inspected ourselves, and the wool pellets we make from island fleece. Sales are announced on the email list first, and everything ships or can be picked up at the farm.

Grown, split and inspected by us for viability, with at least one visible eye on every tuber. All of our dahlias come from a long line of local farms and are not imported. Our growing guide covers planting through winter storage.

Next production run coming

Compressed 100% raw wool from island sheep: slow-release nitrogen, better water retention, aerated soil and a slug deterrent, all in one amendment. One pound treats about 30 square feet. Why we make them.
