Flowers on Orcas

Grown with love on Orcas Island

Sustainable, pesticide free, and vibrant. At Tekla Farms we are passionate about growing the very best flowers, and we keep it close to home and close to nature.

01

The very best flowers

Thousands of stems a season from the field beside our blueberries, grown without pesticides and with regenerative practices: wool-pellet soil building, beneficial-insect plantings and hand harvesting.

02

Close to home

We are (mostly) a production-style flower farm supplying our locally owned grocery store, Island Market, with flowers travelling only 5.5 miles from field to shelf.

03

Close to nature, and vibrant

Ranunculus and tulips in spring, snapdragons, cosmos and campanula through summer, and dahlias — the star of the show — into fall.

Bulk buckets

Our bulk buckets are a great option for those who love flowers and are open to what we have growing at that time. They come with a mix of flowers, filler and foliage (about 55 stems) with the best from our field the week of your event.

To keep this an affordable DIY option we cannot make guarantees on varieties, though we do consider colour requests when harvesting. To see what types of flowers we have for any given month, look through our Instagram.

Tekla Farms Flowers on Orcas

Floral design, year-round by appointment

The u-pick fields open for a few weeks each summer. The design side of Tekla Farms runs all year.

Farmer-florist delivery anywhere on the island, weddings and events designed with Whitney Page, hands-on workshops, and weekly house accounts for restaurants and inns. None of it depends on the farm gate being open, so if Google says we’re closed, the flowers are still very much on.

Start with the inquiry form and we’ll follow up by email with availability, a quote and next steps.

Frequently asked

Flower questions

When do you deliver to Island Market?

Tuesdays and Fridays during the growing season. Our season for 2025 was February to October — we’ll see what 2026 holds!

Can I order a bouquet directly from you?

You can order delivery of a bouquet or arrangement here. On-farm pickup option coming soon!

I need bulk flowers for an event — how do I order?

See bulk buckets above. Buckets are $125 for spring flowers (April to June) and $110 for summer flowers (July to September) plus tax. We are fully booked for June and July 2026; for August and September please reach out at hello@teklafarms.com.

I’m a florist — do you sell wholesale?

We estimate we can begin selling wholesale again in August 2026. We require a reseller permit on file and a minimum order of $100, priced in line with local cooperatives such as the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market. Contact us to get established.

Can I come u-pick flowers for my event?

Our flower u-pick is only open for a fraction of the season — it runs alongside blueberry u-pick in August and September, usually for a few hours a few days per week depending on the blueberry harvest. So if we are open, yes, you may absolutely come pick. Make sure you are on our email list to receive weekly field updates during u-pick season.

Do you offer wedding florals?

Yes we do, in collaboration with local designer Whitney Page. Micro wedding packages start at $500. Send an inquiry to discuss!

Google says the farm is closed — can I still order flowers?

Yes. “Closed” means the u-pick gate is closed to visitors, not that the flowers have stopped. Delivery, design work, workshops and house accounts run year-round by appointment. Please don’t drop by the farm outside posted u-pick hours — order here or send an inquiry instead.
